World Mental Health Week

5 – 12 October 2009

Mental Health in Primary Care: Enhancing Treatment and Promoting Mental Health

This year’s World Mental Health Day falls on Saturday, October 10th. Mental Health Ireland (MHI) the largest voluntary organisation involved in mental health issues, is marking the event with a number of initiatives. Many of the 104 local Associations and Branches affiliated to Mental Health Ireland throughout the country organised local events to promote the objectives of World Mental Health Day.

National Choral Singing Week was a huge success!

National Choral Singing Week 2009

Choral events were organised all over the country by choirs, schools and other groups to mark World Mental Health Week and to highlight the fact that choral singing is good for your mental health. In addition, numbers of choirs sang What a Wonderful World (Louis Armstrong) at the end of their weekly rehearsal to join in the week's activities.
